We will be filling a shoebox for women in shelters, hopefully one per table. Please bring one or two things from the list provided to contribute to a shoebox for women. https://www.shoeboxproject.ca/how-to-make-a-shoebox
Sales & Crafts will have their diverse handmade wares and their beautiful cards all on display. African Dinner tickets will be for sale. Marg W will have her book sale table - $2 for a gift for the reader in your family. She's got some good titles! Our VG4A Cookbook will also be available for only $10.
Our library will be on full display - plan on picking out a book for your pre-Christmas reading. https://docs.google.com/document/d/10pcBsJ6lhao68HMacpNVK9j8Wy50Eq_7FZqqrb8qIXs/edit?usp=sharing
Bring the coins you have been collecting since Thanksgiving if you responded to Joan Dayton's challenge. :)
Here is the rough plan for the social:
12:30 – Helper elves arrive, Sales & Crafts set up their wares
1 – 1:30 Members arrive, mingle, shop – no assigned tables, Louise playing piano
1:30 – People sit down wherever they like: Land Acknowledgement - Sandra S, Welcome - Laurie, African Dinner questions - Meg, Introduction of new members - Margie and Bonnie
2:00 – Icebreaker at each table
2:20 – Cookies will appear at each table. Someone who attended the International Grandmothers Gathering in Winnipeg who is sitting at your table will share a highlight from what they saw and what they learned.
2:35 - Shoebox creation - each table will pool the things they brought and create a box for the shoebox project. (We will figure out a way of sharing re-distributing among the tables as needed.)
2:50 – Sing carols and more with the Strumming Grannies
3:10 - Socialize on!
